Matthew Minton - Journalist/Producer/Digital Strategist
SOCIAL & DIGITAL MEDIA
Matthew not only brings a keen understanding of digital & social media landscapes to Ogilvy Public Relations’ growing social@Ogilvy team, but more than a decade of journalism and broadcast news production experience.
Prior to joining Ogilvy’s Atlanta office, Matthew worked for nine years at CNN, five of which he spent as a producer on its nightly news program, Anderson Cooper 360°. An award-winning journalist, Matthew was among the network’s early adopters of social media and its “real time” news-gathering and story-telling applications.
Matthew’s journalism background and 24/7 newsroom experience help him provide valuable communications insights to both his Ogilvy PR clients and colleagues.
A deft researcher, writer and strategist, Matthew’s main client accounts include InterContinental Hotel Group, Coca-Cola, CORT Event Furnishings and the Mexico Tourism Board where he provides senior leadership on issues-management and crisis communications.
Prior to joining CNN in 2002, Matthew worked for FOX Sports Network, where he helped launch its regional Sports Report programming in both the Los Angeles and Atlanta markets.
Matthew also worked in the San Francisco Forty Niners’ Public and Media Relations department during the team’s 1998 season.
Originally from San Diego, Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Arizona.
TELEVISION - NEWS PRODUCTION
Having a wealth of experience to draw from, Matthew is as composed and confident in the control room as he is a savvy, quick thinking producer in the field and the edit bay. Matthew is a solid network representative in the field, always quick to adapt to production changes, deadlines and breaking news situations.
